Abu Dhabi School of Management Development Project

The Abu Dhabi School of Management Development (ADSM) Project is a strategic initiative to establish a solid foundation to nurture potential entrepreneurs in Abu Dhabi. In essence, the ADSM serves to align its programs with the Abu Dhabi Policy Agenda and Economic Vision 2030 as a basis for its innovative programs. Our vision is to become the first internationally benchmarked institute of higher learning in the Gulf region to offer undergraduate and graduate management degrees within an entrepreneurial ecosystem. As part of this ecosystem, the School will pioneer a Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship for mentorship, networking opportunities, entrepreneurship incubation and a world-class business gaming facility for business gaming, scenario planning activities and for applied research.

Babson College and Abu Dhabi School of Management Sign Advisory Agreement

Babson College has signed an agreement to advise the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce (ADCC) in its development of the Abu Dhabi School of Management (ADSM).

ADCC is working with Babson in this effort because of Babson’s world-renowned leadership in the area of entrepreneurial management education. Babson’s role with the ADSM will be to provide, as part of a consulting relationship, technical services to establish and manage the school. Babson will assist ADSM in the development of its curriculum and hiring and developing faculty, advise ADSM on developing support services and infrastructure for the school, and advise ADSM on managing its ongoing operations.

“Our new partnership in Abu Dhabi stands out as a way Babson College can extend its capacity and reach in entrepreneurship education in ways that were previously unimaginable,” said Babson President Leonard Schlesinger and Babson Provost and Dean of Faculty Shahid Ansari.

“Our partnership with Babson will enable us to fulfill our vision for Abu Dhabi – to develop and nurture entrepreneurship in my country and to create a model for the Middle East,” said Dr. Magdi A. Hafez, President and CEO of the United Arab Emirates Academy. “We couldn’t have a better partner than Babson and I am convinced that it will lead to new hope and opportunity for millions of people in Abu Dhabi and the region.”

“Abu Dhabi came to us, despite its great distance from Wellesley, because they recognize that Babson is a unique school for management education,” said Thomas T. Stallkamp, chairman of the Babson Board of Trustees. “This is confirmation that our leadership in entrepreneurship is having an impact all over the world.”

ADSM will be a founding member of Babson’s new Global Consortium for Entrepreneurship Education (GCEE). GCEE is a network of global partners -- institutions of higher education from around the world -- that share Babson’s vision of educational, economic, and societal change driven by the power of entrepreneurial thought and action. GCEE partners will collaborate on (1) cutting-edge educational content and curricula and (2) developing a cadre of faculty with global exposure and enormous depth of experience to create and deliver innovative and impactful education programs. As the founding member of this global alliance, Babson will lead the development of curricula, programs, and activities that are central to GCEE.
